Social Programme
All delegates and registered accompanying persons are welcome at the social events.
Sunday, 13 August - Welcome Reception
A welcome drinks reception will take place in the O'Reilly Hall of UCD, which will provide an opportunity for delegates to meet in a relaxed environment.
Cost included in Registration Fee.
Monday, 14 August - State Reception
A drinks and finger food reception will be held in the historic State Apartments of Dublin Castle hosted by the Department of Agriculture and Food. Situated on an ancient Celtic Site, Dublin Castle was used by the British from the time of Elizabeth I until Irish independence. Return transportation will be provided from UCD and the conference hotels.

Optional Irish Night
A traditional Irish evening will take place at the world famous Old Jameson Distillery. Your evening begins with a drinks reception and guided tour of the distillery. Guests may also join a whiskey tasting session. This relaxed evening includes Irish music and "craic" and also a contemporary "Riverdance" style dancing, paired with a delicious meal.
Cost: €85.00 includes dinner with an Irish coffee, entertainment and return transportation. A cash bar will be available for beverages.
Tuesday, 15 August - Barbeque at Ashtown Food Research Centre
A barbeque will be held in the grounds of Ashtown Food Research Centre (AFRC), which is part of Teagasc, the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority. This will be a very informal, relaxed evening with good food, drinks and Irish music provided. Return transportation will be provided to and from Ashtown Food Research Centre.
Cost included in Registration Fee.
Wednesday 16th August - A Technical or Scenic tour of your choice

Thursday, 17 August - Gala Dinner
The gala dinner will be held in O'Reilly Hall, UCD. This recently constructed building is quite spectacular with high ceilings and contemporary artwork. The O'Reilly Hall is completed by an attractive conservatory, which overlooks UCD's lake and fountain. This evening begins with a drinks reception, followed by sumptuous food and an exciting entertainment programme.
Cost: €65.00 includes pre-dinner drinks, four-course meal, wine with your meal, entertainment and return transportation for those in conference hotels.
