In advance of the 52nd International Congress of Meat Science & Technology, we would like to provide some final information:
1. Programme
The final programme is now published online. Click here to download the Poster Programme.
2. Registration
Registration will take place on Sunday 13th August from 2.00pm - 20.00pm in O'Reilly Hall, UCD, Dublin 4. The registration desk will be clearly signposted.
3. Transport from Dublin Airport
If you are arriving at Dublin Airport you can take the Blue Aircoach, which will drop you to Jurys Montrose Hotel, just opposite the congress venue of UCD. This will cost €7 single and €12 return. For more information on this service log on to www.aircoach.ie or email info@aircoach.ie
Alternatively you can take a taxi straight to your accommodation, this will cost you approximately €30. For those arriving late at night the latter is advisable.
4. Accommodation at UCD
If your accommodation is in UCD campus you can get directions from the Security Booth at the main entrance. If you are staying at Glenomena and arrive beyond midnight please call 01-7161030 for the Resident Assistant. If you have no access to a mobile phone you can call from the Security Booth. Merville accommodation is open 24 hours. Please be informed that breakfast will be served in the Main Restaurant each morning from 7.30am and 7.00am on Wednesday.
5. Transport from Congress Hotels
Transportation will be provided each morning and evening to the congress venue from the congress hotels.
Delegates staying in the city centre, in Brooks Hotel & Buswells hotel, will be collected from Buswells Hotel on Kildare Street. Delegates staying in the Raddisson & the Stillorgan park will be collected from outside their hotels.
6. What to Pack
Please remember to bring suitable clothing for your Mid Congress Tours and it is always a good idea to pack a light raincoat or umbrella, as our weather in Ireland can be very changeable.
7. Poster Presentations
For those delegates presenting posters please note that the poster size is Height: 2 meters Width: 1 meter. Information regarding poster presentations is available on the conference website.
Could all Poster Presenters please ensure to stand beside their Poster for the duration of their presentation session.
8. Irish Night, Gala dinner & other Social Events
There are a number of social & tour options available to you during your visit to Ireland.
A small number of tickets still remain for the Irish night taking place in the famous Old Jameson Distillary, a night of Irish fun, food & entertainment. These must be pre-booked by Thursday 9th August (€85).
If you wish to attend the gala dinner (€65) and have not already opted to do so please email me as tickets are limited.
There are tickets available for all the optional tours on offer in the programme, these can be purchased at the registration desk, though advanced booking is advised so as to avoid disappointment.
Social Events included in the cost of the registration fee are the Welcome Reception, State Reception & Bar-B-Que night, if you have not selected these and would like to do so please email Orla@conferencepartners.ie as we are finalising numbers for these events.
